Alhambra Kitchen Remodeling, Questions Answered on Site
Alhambra kitchen remodels begin with the questions raised at the first visit, answered with a tape measure: does the range fit, can the layout change.
Does the new range fit where the old one sits? Asked at the first visit to an Alhambra kitchen, that question gets answered with a tape measure and a flashlight. The result depends on the gas stub, the outlet behind the range, the hood above it and the cabinet widths on either side. Measuring first, and promising nothing until the room has been checked, keeps the later plan honest.
Will it fit, and can the opening change?
Appliances are sized by their spec sheets, and the room is measured against them: width of the opening, depth of the refrigerator with its doors open, height under the hood. A freestanding range slides into a different space than a slide-in does, and a counter-depth refrigerator changes the cabinet run beside it. If a wall is the problem, the next question is whether it carries load. A non-bearing wall can move with less work, while a bearing wall brings a beam into the plan and a structural review into the schedule.
What about the hood, the power and the pipes?
The hood question is whether a duct can reach the outside, and how long and straight the path is. The power question is whether the panel has room for a dedicated range circuit, which an older panel may lack. The plumbing question is where the sink drain meets the stack. Answers to all three are written on the layout drawing, so the first-visit questions become decisions with sizes attached and a price that follows from them. Anything the room cannot support gets raised at that point and not discovered halfway through demolition.
Kitchen Remodeling in Alhambra: questions to settle first
Often it can. What matters is whether the new position has a path for waste, venting and supply plumbing, and whether the range can reach a duct to the outside. The current plan and the moved plan get drawn together, so the extra plumbing, gas and electrical runs show up before you commit.
Appliance models and dimensions, the exhaust route, where gas and power land, the cabinet list and any wall that moves. Those answers settle what is built, so the quote follows a plan with sizes on it. Questions still open after the first visit are marked and resolved before pricing.
The city building department reviews relocated plumbing, gas lines, added circuits, hood ducts and wall changes. A refresh of cabinets, counters and flooring alone may need no permit, but an appliance change can pull a circuit into review. Permit items are listed on the drawing.
