Sensors and a shutoff

When one gets wet, the valve closes and an alarm sounds. A simpler choice is a sensor alone, which only alerts. Either way, the valve needs a reachable location and, for wired types, an outlet nearby. Those locations go on the plumbing and electrical drawings so the cabinet layout leaves access to each one.
Seals at the counter and sink
Clips and a structural adhesive hold an undermount sink to the counter, and the joint is sealed so water cannot creep into the cabinet. Faucet and soap dispenser holes get a gasket and a bead of sealant from the top. A moisture barrier strip on the underside of a wood or laminate counter over the dishwasher keeps steam from swelling it. Drain connections are run with water before the cabinet is filled, and the trap stays reachable for cleaning. The supply stops are checked for drips with the water on and the faucet open.
