Kitchen Remodeling in Redondo Beach
The City of Redondo Beach building department reads each kitchen set. Navon Home draws it from the signed layout and answers plan check notes on new sheets.
Staff at the City of Redondo Beach building department read the drawings for a kitchen in Redondo Beach and decide whether the plan can be built as drawn. We prepare that set from the signed layout, so every circuit, drain and duct the reviewer sees is one we will actually install. Scope sets the depth of the review. New finishes in old positions ask for little, and a moved range or an opened wall asks for a good deal more.
Comments, corrections and the layout
Plan check does not always end at the first reading. A reviewer may ask for a hood duct to end farther from an operable window, for arc fault and ground fault protection to be marked on each kitchen circuit, or for the lighting schedule to show it meets the state energy code. Each comment is answered on a revised sheet. When a correction reaches the layout, such as a duct route that has to shift, we redraw the cabinets around it before anything is ordered, which keeps the approved set and the finished kitchen in agreement.
Inspections and the state review
Once the permit is issued, a city inspector visits at each stage the permit card lists, and work behind a wall stays open until that stage is signed. Some Redondo Beach parcels fall inside the boundary where the state adds its own review and some do not, and a kitchen kept entirely indoors generally stays clear of that review. A new window, a vent through an outside wall or an addition can bring it in, so we look the parcel up before filing and plan the exterior openings with the answer in hand.
What we plan and build in Redondo Beach
Every project here starts the same way: a measured layout, then the lines behind the walls, then finishes.
