Kitchen Remodeling in Manhattan Beach

On a first Manhattan Beach visit, Navon Home opens the electrical panel to see what range, oven and hood it can carry, then checks the sink base and duct.

On a first visit to a Manhattan Beach kitchen, the electrical panel is where we start. Its rating and open slots show if the plan can add cooking power, such as induction, a wall oven or a stronger hood, on the service it has today, or whether a service upgrade has to come first. That answer steers the layout before a single cabinet is picked. After the panel, we look under the sink and along the hood duct.

What the panel can carry

We read the main breaker rating, count the free spaces and add up the loads already on the panel, then compare that with what the new kitchen asks for. An induction range, a wall oven and a dishwasher each want their own circuit, and the counter needs protected outlets spread along its length. If the panel is short, the options include a load calculation that shows the margin is there, a subpanel, or a larger service, which brings the utility into the schedule. Each choice is written into the quote before the layout is final.

Sink base, duct and the city permit

Under the sink we look for stains, swollen panels and green or rusty fittings, signs that damp air near the water and slow drips have been at work. Along the hood duct we check for rust at the joints and a damper that still closes. Replacement parts are picked in stainless, copper or plastic where that matters. The City of Manhattan Beach building department reviews the permit, and any added state review for lots by the water is confirmed first. Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Torrance kitchens start with the same visit.
