Kitchen Remodeling in Whittier
In a Whittier kitchen, Navon Home opens the sink cabinet first: drain, valves, trap and floor show how far the layout can move before any price is written.
The sink cabinet is the first thing we open in a Whittier kitchen. The drain, the supply valves, the floor under the trap and the wall behind it show how the plumbing has held up, and that decides how far a new plan can move the sink. A soft floor or a seized valve gets written into the quote, and the layout is drawn from what that cabinet reveals.
What the sink base shows
We run water, watch the trap and slip joints for drips and press the cabinet floor for give. Valves are turned to see whether they close fully, and the drain line is checked for slope where it enters the wall. Galvanized supply pipe with weak flow or a rust tint points to a repipe, which costs less while the walls are open anyway. A stained or swollen floor panel means the subfloor under it gets probed with a moisture meter before any price is written.
Panel, hood route and the permit
After the sink, we read the panel label, count spare breaker slots and look for a path to run a hood duct outdoors through the wall or the roof. Together those set what the new kitchen can hold. If the panel is full, a subpanel or a service upgrade enters the plan before cabinets are chosen. The City of Whittier building department reviews the plans and inspects gas, wiring and framing before drywall goes up. Kitchens in Downey, Hacienda Heights and La Habra Heights begin with this visit too.
What we plan and build in Whittier
Every project here starts the same way: a measured layout, then the lines behind the walls, then finishes.
